Part-time or full-time PhD?

I recently ran a poll on Twitter to learn which % of PhD students do their PhD in part-time. In my research group in Delft, I’ve seen the number of part-time PhD students increase and of the two (soon two be three) PhD students that I supervise one (soon to be two) are part-time now.

The outcome of the poll is that about 20% of the PhDs are part-time endeavors.
