Between Pushing Forward And Resting

Between pushing forward and resting

Work has been intense in these past months. I am throwing spaghetti to the wall and applying for every possible type of funding – I need at least one, and ideally two, big projects to get funded so that I can continue my research lines and hire new doctoral candidates.

So, rest has been a bit on the sideline. I have been generally trying to remain active and eat properly, but I have been working late more often than I care to admit.

At the same time, I know that between working out a lot and pushing for funding at work, my body needs to rest every now and then. While I prefer to have a consistent sleep schedule, I have been allowing myself to crash and nap on the weekends for some recovery. And, in the season of respiratory viruses, I did rest a bit more as well to battle something that was trying to get me sick.

How do you decide when to rest and when to just push through a bit more?
