Recent poetry publications

Over the past months, I have been delighted to see my poetry find its way into new spaces and reach new audiences.

One of my poems was selected for the Hesiodos Flow Festival at the For Love of the World Festival in Delft, a festival that brings together philosophy, art, and technology through talks, workshops, installations, and performances. Unfortunately, I was traveling at the time of the event and could not participate in the poetry reading myself. Even so, it was an honor to have my work included in a program that celebrated creativity and dialogue across disciplines.

More recently, my poem Afterbirth was featured by Spillwords. Readers can find the publication here: Spillwords: Afterbirth

And I received the following review of the publication:

“Raw, feverish, and emotionally unguarded, Eva Lantsoght’s ‘Afterbirth’ turns desire, chaos, and longing into something almost mythic.”

These two poems are actually my very first ever selected in English. I always focused on writing in Dutch, but after the pandemic I started to write as multilingual as my thoughts. And then I finally came around submitting work in English 🙂

I have been writing for many years, but only recently I have been pushing myself again to submit my work for publication. I used to do so, as a teenager and young adult, and then I started to keep my writing to myself. Part of it is because being a poet probably does not align with the expectation of the profile of an engineering professor, part of it is has been the fear of taking up too much space and being too much.
