My Fifth Year As A Top 2% Scientist

My fifth year as a top 2% scientist

The August 2025 data-update for “Updated science-wide author databases of standardized citation indicators” has just been released.

I am glad to see my name in the career-long list for the fourth year in a row, and in the single-year list for the fifth year in a row. In the latter category, I am now in the top 1.04%. You can find me under “civil engineering” and “building & construction”.

In the career-wide list I rank 666th (cue Iron Maiden) out of 62565 civil engineering researchers, and in the annual list I am on the 520th place out of 62565 – placing me in the top 1.0% and 0.8% in my field, respectively. As compared to last year, I’ve fallen a bit down in these rankings, but still sufficient to be included.

Of course, I am glad to see the efforts of my research rewarded by this – regardless of the criticism on the methodology, our obsession with rankings, etc. Right now, I feel celebratory 🙂
