My favorite albums of 2025

I listened less to new releases in 2025 and just leaned in to the comfort zone of albums I enjoy listening to.

Nevertheless, I do have a top 10 of favorite albums of the past year:

10. Dream Theatre – Parasomnia: I don’t get tired of Dream Theatre

9. Lacrimosa – Lament: Sturm und Drang in a gothic sauce

8. Winter – Onbegrijpelijk: Supporting my cousin

7. Joost – Unity: My kid likes Joost, I like Joost.

6. Antimatter – Parallel matter: Burn a candle, feel sad.

5. Katatonia – Nightmares as extensions of the waking state: Burn a candle, feel sad, part 2.

4. Amorphis – Borderland: Amorphis is pure gold.

3. Hexvessel – Nocturne: I love this forest magic sound.

2. Machine Head – Unatoned: My favorite song of the year is “These scars won’t define us”

1. Avatarium – Between You, God, the Devil and the Dead”: Have loved this album all year long.
